“Music begins where the possibilities of language end” Jean Sibelius |
About me
Welcome to my portal, a space where music, creativity, and passion converge.
My name is Dinnos Georgountzos, and I am a classically trained pianist, composer, arranger, band leader and session musician with nearly thirty-five years of experience in the music industry. From a young age, I was drawn to the intricate world of music, philosophy, and technology—fields that have profoundly shaped my journey. I was fortunate to study these passions at university, grounding my creative work in a solid academic foundation.
My love for music spans a broad spectrum. While the symphonic sound holds a special place in my heart, I am equally passionate about pop and jazz—genres I was fortunate to explore during my adolescence. These diverse influences have enriched my musical language, allowing me to create works that resonate across different styles and audiences.
Based in Athens, Greece, I have established a successful career that spans decades, characterized by a deep commitment to musical excellence. My work has flourished locally and resonated internationally, leading to collaborations on documentary scores and classical music compositions with artists and organizations around the globe.
Over the years, my arrangements have resulted in numerous platinum-selling albums and a string of acclaimed concerts and live performances throughout Greece. I’ve had the honour of supporting and arranging music for virtually every major artist in my country, thereby contributing to shaping the Greek music landscape.
Beyond my creative endeavours, I am deeply involved in advocating for musicians’ rights. Over the past twenty years, I have had the honour of serving on the boards of APOLLON and GEA, where I work to ensure that musicians receive the recognition and protection they deserve.
Through this portal, I invite you to explore my musical works, share in my passion, and join me on this ever-evolving journey in the world of my music and ideas.
Thank you for visiting.
